Description

This position requires a seasoned professional with at least 10 years of experience
in the IT industry.

Candidates must be proficient with the Tivoli Storage Manager
(TSM) product running on the AIX platform in a large corporate environment, including
application installation and configuration, policy management, storage pool configuration
and maintenance, tape library interface configuration, pool occupancy management, TSM.
database maintenance, and TSM backup clients. Experience working within the financial
services sector is preferred.

Engineer backup and restore solutions for Windows and Unix servers and Teradata,
SQL and Oracle databases using the TSM enterprise backup tool.
Provide 24x7 3rd-level support for multi-site enterprise-wide distributed backup
platform, including both TSM servers and TSM clients (server OS, database TDP, LAN-free).
Perform TSM application capacity planning and performance tuning
Provide technical guidance for storage administration group
Develop technical partnerships with key engineering, architecture, and administration teams
Adhere to stringent corporate IT Service Management policies and procedures

Qualifications

8+ years hands on technical experience performing TSM administration and backup
solution engineering.
5+ years of functional engineering group experience, preferably in the financial services sector
5+ years experience with server systems administration (Unix and/or Windows)
3+ years experience with enterprise class automated tape libraries (IBM preferred)
Must have solid conceptual knowledge of IP networks, SAN and NAS storage
platforms, data backup/restore techniques, and disaster recovery planning.
Must be able to work as part of a virtual team with strong verbal and written communication skills.
Must have excellent conceptual and analytical skills
Must be able to plan and manage complex projects
Must be able to write detailed technical documentation
Working knowledge of the Teradata data warehouse platform is preferred
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
